Design-oriented hotel brand The Hoxton has opened its first property in Los Angeles.
Located on the corner of 11th Street and Broadway, The Hoxton, Downtown LA has 174 rooms, two restaurant/bars called Sibling Rival and Pilot, and a rooftop pool.
It is in the former Los Angeles Railway Building, a ten-storey Beaux Arts structure built in 1922 that has also housed a garment manufacturer and a sweet shop.

Rooms have been created by Ennismore Design Studio and come in four categories; Snug, Cosy, Roomy and Biggy.
They feature wall panelling, chevron flooring and burl timber, with decorations including local artwork, retro telephones and Marshall radios.
All guests get one hour of free calls to anywhere in the world, free wifi, a mini fridge, fresh milk and a daily breakfast bag delivered to the room.

Hoxton opened its first Chicago hotel and third London hotel earlier this year, joining those in Portland, New York, Paris and Amsterdam.
It also unveiled a new co-working space concept called Working From (styled “Working From_”), with pay-to-access areas within its properties including desks with ergonomic chairs, wireless charging points, daybeds and office spaces.
Hoxton describes its hotels as a “series of open house hotels inspired by the diversity and originality of the streets and scenes that surround them,” with “welcoming public spaces and an eclectic series of monthly events, that bring the outside in, by working with local creatives”.
