The Hoxton has added its third US property and seventh hotel worldwide, with the opening of The Hoxton Chicago.
The 182-room hotel is located in the Fulton market District of the city, and features rooftop Peruvian-inspired restaurant Cabra Cevicheria, ground floor Mediterranean restaurant Cira, and basement level cocktail bar Lazy Bird.
Rooms come in three categories – Snug, Roomy and Cosy – and design draws inspiration from “the area’s industrial past with unfinished concrete ceilings and warehouse-style windows complemented by two-toned walls of white and rose”, with mid-century furniture, local artwork, Marshall radios, free wifi and walk-in showers.
Other facilities include a rooftop pool (open seasonally), five meeting spaces set around a communal Pantry Kitchen, and a two floors of co-working space which will open this summer.
The Hoxton brand was launched in 2006 (for a review of the original Shoreditch property, click here), and was joined by a second London hotel in Holborn in 2014 (for a review click here).
Subsequent properties include The Hoxton Amsterdam (2015), The Hoxton Paris (2017), The Hoxton Williamsburg (2018), and The Hoxton Portland (2018), with forthcoming locations including Downtown LA and London’s Southwark district.
The group described its properties as “A series of open house hotels inspired by the diversity and originality of the streets and scenes that surround them”, with “welcoming public spaces and an eclectic series of monthly events, that bring the outside in, by working with local creatives”.
