Radisson Hotel Group has announced plans to open the first London property under its upscale Radisson Red brand.

The hotel is targeting a 2020 opening and will be located in Greenwich, near the O2 Arena.

US-based Radisson says it will have 70 rooms, a bistro, bar and a gym.

The signing is part of an £8 billion project to redevelop Greenwich Peninsula.

Elie Younes, Radisson’s executive vice president and chief development officer, commented:

“Radisson Red is for those who wish to stand out of the crowd and it now lands in London. Opening in 2020, it perfectly blends business and play around the O2. A sincere appreciation goes to our partners for their trust in our people and our brands.”

Radisson Red currently has UK hotels in Glasgow and Liverpool.

The group recently launched a new website that allows customers to browse its entire portfolio, which also includes Radisson Collection, Radisson Blu, Radisson, Park Plaza, Park Inn by Radisson and Country Inn and Suites by Radisson.
