Marriott International’s W Hotels has announced the signing of a W Escape resort in Ubud, Bali. This is the second W Hotel in Indonesia, following the opening of W Bali – Seminyak in 2010.A one-hour drive from Denpasar International Airport, W Bali – Ubud is expected to be operational by 2020.

The interiors offer a contemporary take on traditional Balinese art designs featuring works of local artists. Overlooking the Tanggayuda Valley, the 100-key W Bali – Ubud will include ten villas with private swimming pools and an EWOW suite.

The F&B offerings are Morinda, an all-day dining restaurant and Synn, a specialty restaurant serving Balinese and international cuisine among others. Then there is the FIT (gym) bar, serving pressed juice by the day, and transforming into a high-energy bar by the night. The pool side sunset bar is set to be one of the highlights of the resort.

Recreational facilities available here are — a WET Deck with terraced pool, a designated quite pool; and the signature AWAY Spa.

Along with being a popular leisure destination, Bali is also witnessing a massive surge in MICE tourism. W Bali – Ubud aims to accommodate this growing demand with a 176 sqm meeting venue with an outdoor lawn space.

Anthony Ingham, Global Brand Leader, W Hotels Worldwide said, “Ubud is a hidden destination like no other, where legends and nature intertwine with everyday life to create a magical sense of adventure.

“W Bali – Ubud is an exciting next step for us. We are applying a unique, vibrant sensibility to this hotel, one that has not been seen before on the island. W Bali – Ubud will combine the brand’s boundary-breaking approach to design with the rich cultural, spiritual and artistic influences of Ubud to show off the best of this incredible locale and all we’ve learned in the decade since W debuted in Indonesia.”
