Israeli carrier El Al has announced plans to launch flights from Tel Aviv to the US cities of Las Vegas and San Francisco next year.

The weekly service to Las Vegas will start in June 2019, with flights departing Tel Aviv on Fridays at 0700, arriving into Las Vegas at 1115. The return leg will depart Sin City at 2345 on Saturdays, landing back into Tel Aviv at 2215 the following day.

The new service will be the only nonstop route between the two cities, and will be served by a B787 Dreamliner aircraft.

The carrier will also launch three times weekly nonstop B787 flights to San Francisco in May next year, a service which had orginally been schedule to launch in late 2018.

The new routes will bring El Al’s North American network to seven nonstop services – Boston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco and Toronto.

Commenting on the new Las Vegas flights EL AL Vice President Commercial and Industry Affairs Michael Strassburger said:

“In recent years Las Vegas has become very attractive for Israeli leisure travellers, and also among the business sector due to the many conferences and exhibitions held in the city.

“The nonstop flights to Las Vegas, with departures from Tel Aviv on Fridays and returning on Saturday night, are particularly attractive for the popular “business and pleasure” mix.

“In addition, the airline’s route network in North America and codeshare agreements allow customers to combine a visit to Las Vegas with a departure or return from one of EL AL’s other destinations in North America, including San Francisco and Los Angeles.”

El Al took delivery of its first B787-9 in 2017, and has a total of 16 Dreamliner aircraft on order, which will replace the carrier’s existing B747-400 and B767-300 fleet between now and 2020.
