Marriott’s Moxy Hotels is the latest brand coming to Liverpool, with a 153-room property set to open in 2020.

Last month Business Traveller reported that Radisson Hotel Group is to open a Radisson Red hotel within the city’s North Western Hotel building attached to Liverpool Lime Street station.

And now comes news of the Moxy Liverpool City Centre, which will be developed by Niveda Realty and managed by Cycas Hospitality.

Details are sketchy at present, but the hotel will be located “within a five-minute walk from both the recently-upgraded Liverpool Lime Street train station and Liverpool Central railway station”.

Facilities will include a gym and meeting space, as well as free wifi and internet TV streaming capabilities in rooms.

Cycas Hospitality owns and manages the existing Staybridge Suites Liverpool, which Business Traveller reviewed when it opened back in 2008.

Commenting on the news Asli Kutlucan, Senior Partner Acquisitions and Development at Cycas Hospitality, said:

“Cycas started its journey a decade ago in Liverpool and we are thrilled to be expanding our footprint in this vibrant destination at a time when its regeneration projects have cemented the city’s position as a key destination for tourists and businesses alike.

“We are therefore confident that Moxy’s bold brand values and playful spirit will appeal to visitors keen to work hard and play hard in the city centre.”

The Moxy Liverpool City Centre will join existing UK properties at Heathrow, Stratford, London’s Excel and Aberdeen airport, with forthcoming hotels in locations including Bristol, Southampton and York.
