British Airways will launch a new route between London Gatwick and Cologne Bonn airport this winter.

The four times weekly service will start on November 16, operating on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday, with lead-in fares from £27 each way.

Flight times are as follows:

Monday

  • Departs Gatwick at 0650, arrives into Cologne at 0915
  • Departs Cologne at 1145, arrives into Gatwick at 1210

Thursday

  • Departs Gatwick at 1825, arrives into Cologne at 2050
  • Departs Cologne at 2135, arrives into Gatwick at 2200

Friday

  • Departs Gatwick at 1635, arrives into Cologne at 1900
  • Departs Cologne at 2115, arrives into Gatwick at 2140

Sunday

  • Departs Gatwick at 1630, arrives into Cologne at 1855
  • Departs Cologne at 2115, arrives into Gatwick at 2140

Cologne is Germany’s fourth largest city, and is home to the corporate headquarters of Lufthansa, and the European headquarters of Ford Europe, as well as being the base for a number of insurance and media companies.

Commenting on the news Adam Carson, British Airways’ Managing Director of Gatwick, said:

“Cologne adds another exciting destination to our Gatwick network and is perfect for a winter break. Cologne is becoming increasingly popular due to being a cultural hub and is a living textbook on art, history and architecture.”

Lufthansa Group subsidiary Eurowings operates flights to Cologne Bonn from Edinburgh, Gatwick, Heathrow, Manchester and Stansted, while Flybe offers services from Southend airport (operated by Stobart Air), and Ryanair flies from Bristol, Manchester and Stansted.
