Low-cost carrier Easyjet is to add its 1,000th route this winter, with the launch of a total of 24 new services, 16 of which will be from the UK.

The route taking the honours is a new Manchester-Bordeaux service, part of what the carrier says is its largest ever expansion at Manchester, with five new routes launching this winter.

The 16 new routes from the UK are as follows:

  • Belfast to Fuerteventura, Prague and Salzburg
  • Bristol to Larnaca, Are Ostersund and Sofia
  • Glasgow to Venice
  • Liverpool to Toulouse
  • London Luton to Gibraltar and Krakow
  • London Stansted to Hurgharda
  • Manchester to Lanzarote, Barcelona, Faro, Innsbruck and Bordeaux

The new winter services will add 358,200 seats to Easyjet’s network this winter, with over 248,600 of these being to and from the UK.

Commenting on the news Sophie Dekkers, UK Country Director, said:

“Easyjet has come such a long way since our first ever route from London Luton to Glasgow in 1996 and we are so excited to have reached the 1,000 routes milestone today.

“The launch of these 16 new routes across the UK provides our passengers with even more amazing destinations across Europe for both holidays and business travel.

“We are really looking forward to continuing our sustainable growth and expansion, to provide travellers across Europe with low fares and friendly customer service.”
