Business Traveller rounds up new and upcoming hotels from brands including W Hotels, Four Seasons and Radisson Blu.

Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur

The third tallest skyscraper in Malaysia is now home to the newest Four Seasons luxury hotel in Asia. Located adjacent to the iconic Petronas Towers, near the city centre, this 65-storey hotel has 209 rooms and suites, as well as serviced apartments and residences.

Guests can choose from six different restaurants and bars, and there is also an outdoor pool with private cabanas, a spa and a fitness centre. Around 1,821 sqm of event-space, which includes four meeting rooms and two ballrooms, is available to hire. The hotel also employs a conference team to help guests plan events. From around £170.

Renaissance Philadelphia Downtown

Situated a block from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell is the third Renaissance brand hotel from Marriott International in the city of brotherly love. The new hotel aims to pay homage to the history of the neighbourhood in a modern, quirky way: pop-art images of famous Philadelphians hang in each of the 152 guestrooms and portraits of Benjamin Franklin’s mistresses are scattered throughout.

The Chez Ben restaurant serves French bistro standards, while M Brown’s offers a cocktail menu that heavily favours anything dark and aged. A 24-hour fitness centre, indoor pool and sauna are available to guests, as well as four meeting rooms. From around £120.

Calvia Beach The Plaza Hotel, Magaluf, Spain

Calvia Beach The Plaza Hotel, Magaluf, Spain

The newest offering from Melia Hotels International on the Spanish island of Majorca has opened its doors. It features 272 rooms, two with private swimming pools, and is located in the resort town of Magaluf.

The hotel is split into two buildings separated by an open square in the middle with rooftops guaranteeing guests panoramic views over the Palma Bay. Two additional pools sit on top of a plaza. The hotel is part of the new Sol House Calvia Beach resort, which comprises three hotels and eight restaurants and bars. From around £175.

Radisson Blu Hotel, Bruges

Anticipated to open in August, the newest Radisson Blu hotel will be the company’s 15th in Belgium. The new hotel will be situated in the Markt, Bruges’ famous market square, and near the Central Station.

The hotel will offer 109 rooms and suites, including 19 family rooms. Dedicated event space will be spread across two floors, with a large meeting room on the 12th floor overlooking the city. A restaurant with an outdoor terrace will also be available for guests to dine in.

W Nashville

The W Hotels brand from Marriott International is set to make its debut in Music City in 2020. It has partnered with Rockwell Group architects in an attempt to bring the culture of the city into the design of the property. The new building will be located in The Gulch neighbourhood, which is near the Country Music Hall of Fame, and there are plans to have regular live music.

There will be 346 rooms, including 50 suites and two presidential suites, as well as 1,254 sqm of event space. A gym with a yoga lawn, a pool and two restaurants, The Dutch Nashville and an Italian chophouse, will round out the hotel’s offering.

Radisson Hotels and Apartments Abidjan Plateau, Cote d’Ivoire

The largest business hub in Francophone Africa, Abidjan has been chosen for a new Radisson hotel set to open in 2021. It will be located on the Boulevard de la Republique in the central business district.

The hotel will be home to Abidjan’s largest conference space, with over 1,000. There will be 122 rooms, and 24 one-bedroom and six two-bedroom apartments, as well as two restaurants, a sky bar and a fitness centre.
