KLM has launched a new map of Amsterdam Schiphol, to help travelers locate facilities within the airport.

The map is available via the carrier’s Apple mobile app (as well as on KLM’s Messenger, Twitter and WeChat services).

It shows the user’s location as a dot on the floor plan, helping them to locate themselves relative to facilities including check-in desks, gates, lounges and transfer desks, as well as other airport facilities such as toilets, workspaces and meditation areas.

Commenting on the new service Pieter Groeneveld, Senior Vice President Digital Air France KLM said:

“The Schiphol Airport Map extends a helping hand to KLM passengers during their trip. By making this service available via the KLM app and via social media, we add a new dimension to our digital strategy.

“KLM wants to be where its customers are. The service is currently only intended for passengers travelling via Schiphol, but other airports will soon be added.”

KLM recently launched a service offering customer flight information via Twitter direct message, and last year became the first airline to offer flight documents and information via Facebook Messenger.
