Japanese low-cost carrier Spring Airlines Japan is set to launch two new services to China at the end of January.

Starting January 28, the airline will operate direct flights between Tokyo Narita and Tianjin – the largest trading port in the north of China and one of the country’s four directly controlled municipalities that also include Beijing, Shanghai and Chongqing.

Meanwhile, starting the day after on January 29, the carrier will begin operating direct flights between Tokyo Narita and Harbin. The new route makes Spring Japan the first Japanese carrier to fly to the Chinese city (All Nippon Airways offers non-direct flights to Harbin through codeshares with various Chinese airlines).

Both new routes will be operated by 189-seat Boeing B737-800s.
