American Airlines to offer year-round Manchester-JFK service

15 Dec 2010 by BusinessTraveller
American Airlines will re-launch its transatlantic flights from Manchester next summer, and this time the route is expected to continue as a year-round service. The Oneworld carrier launches its daily summer service betwen Manchester and New York JFK in May this year (see online news September 19, 2009), and says that the popularity of the route means it will re-introduce the flights earlier next year, with flights re-commencing on April 6, 2011. Flight times have also been adjusted to depart Manchester around an hour earlier and leave New York later, which the carrier says will enable customers “to really maximise their time in the Big Apple”. AA says that this time round the route is “expected to operate as a year round service”. Boeing 757-200 aircraft will ply the route in a two-class configuration, with 16 seats in business class and 166 in economy. The carrier also offers daily flights from Manchester to its Chicago hub. Star Alliance rival Continental serves New York Newark from Manchester (with United and Bmi codesharing on the route), while Skyteam's Delta serves New York JFK (with KLM codesharing). For more information visit aa.com. Report by Mark Caswell Provisional schedules for Manchester’s two non-stop daily flights are:
  1. Effective 6th  April, 2011
  2. Effective 5th April, 2011
