Taiwanese carrier Eva Air has begun codesharing with Air India, connecting Mumbai with Taipei through Bangkok and Singapore.

Eva Air and Air India are now using both airlines’ flight numbers on Eva-operated flights from Taipei to Bangkok and Singapore, in addition to Air India-operated Bangkok and Singapore to Mumbai connections.

The Taiwanese airline currently offers 24 flights a week to Bangkok and two daily to Singapore, while Air India operates daily flights to Mumbai.

The codeshare comes as Eva Air has been expanding its international network, including launching a new four-times-weekly non-stop Taipei-Chicago service in November and increasing the frequency of its Taipei-Paris service to daily in July.

Meanwhile, Air India’s budget subsidiary Air India Express began flights between Kolkata and Singapore in November and launched a Chennai-Singapore service in October.
