Business Traveller attended a lunch hosted by Mandarin Oriental today, ahead of the opening of Dinner by Heston Blumenthal at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park in January.
Below is an image (taken by iPhone, so apologies for the quality) of one of the dishes served at the event, created by Heston and his head chef at the new venture, Ashley Palmer-Watts. It will be on the menu at Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, but can you guess what it is?
We'll reveal the answer on the website on Friday morning. For more information on the new restaurant, see online news August 17.

Well, the hotel group is called Mandarin Oriental, but i guess that would be too obvious. Knowing Heston it will be snail porridge covered in orange peel or something equally as weird.

He did a programme once where he disguised bulls testicles as plums, so anything is possible!

With the bread I would say it is something you can spread. A gooey chocolate orange?

Well done Loyal_BA - the dish is indeed called Meat Fruit. Here's a line from Mandarin Oriental on the inspiration for the dish:
"The dish looks like a mandarin orange so it is a lovely representation of our partnership with Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park. It is inspired by a Medieval British dish and is essentially a parfait (chicken liver) with a mandarin gel exterior served with grilled bread."
