Marriott has confirmed the first group of hotels that will join its new Autograph Collection, with seven properties located in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and New Mexico.
Marriott officially announced its new Autograph brand last November (see online news November 13, 2009), an offering which the group describes as “upper upscale and luxury, independent hotels”, with “distinctive personalities in major cities and desired destinations worldwide”.
The first properties to join the portfolio are all part of the Kessler Collection of hotels, and will become members of the Autograph Collection in April, with 25 properties worldwide planned for the new Marriott brand this year.
The seven properties are El Monte Sagrado, Taos, New Mexico; Grand Bohemian Hotel, Asheville, North Carolina; Mansion on Forsyth Park, Savannah, Georgia; Bohemian Hotel Riverfront, Savannah, Georgia; Casa Monica Hotel, St. Augustine, Florida; Grand Bohemian Hotel, Orlando, Florida; and Celebration Hotel, Orlando, Florida. Each hotel will retain its own brand, but will be featured on the marriott.com website, and will benefit from being part of the Marriott Rewards programme.
The Kessler Collection website describes its portfolio as featuring “hotels and residences with distinctive architecture, stylish décor, rare art and music”.
