IndiGo announces international launch
Published: 15/06/2011 - Filed under: News »
Indian low-cost carrier IndiGo will launch its first international flights this September, with routes to Bangkok, Dubai and Singapore.
The airline made aviation history earlier this year when it announced it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the biggest commercial aircraft purchase in history – 180 Airbus A320 aircraft.
The new routes include Delhi to Dubai commencing on September 1, Delhi to Bangkok from September 8, Delhi to Singapore from September 15, and Mumbai to both Bangkok and Dubai from October 2. For a full list of launch dates and schedules click here.
Inaugural return fares for the Delhi-Dubai route start from INR9,999 (£137). IndiGo was launched in 2006, and was required by government regulations to complete five years of domestic operations before being granted approval to launch international services.
