Holiday Inn to partner with 2012 Games

Intercontinental Hotel Group’s Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express brands are to be the “Official Hotel Services Providers” to the 2012 Olympic Games.
The partnership will see Holiday Inn supplying experienced employees to assist with the planning and operation of the Athelete’s Village within the Olympic Park. IHG as a whole will also provide accommodation and meeting rooms for LOCOG (The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games) and its partners during the build up to the Games.
The Holiday Inn brand is currently undergoing a £600m relaunch (see online news April 9, 2008), and is the ninth Tier Three supplier and provider to be announced for the 2012 Games.
For a report on the development of the Olympic Park, and the legacy it will leave for London, see the May 2009 issue of Business Traveller.
