In late 2014, Swire Hotels will open its third House-brand property, the Temple House in Chengdu. This follows the successful launch of the Opposite House in Beijing in 2008 (see story here) and the Upper House in Hong Kong in 2009 (see story here).
The House will be designed using traditional Chengdu architectural elements such as timber, brick and step stones, and will be designed in the style of a Qing dynasty Chinese courtyard building. The 100-room hotel will offer free wifi, as well as a number of restaurants and facilities – the specifics of which will be released at a later date.
The hotel will be located within walking distance of the interchange station of Chengdu Metro lines 2 and 3. It will be housed in the centrally located Chengdu Daci Temple Cultural and Commercial Complex, which will also consist of an open-plan, low-rise mall, offices and the Daci Temple.
