An embodiment of ‘contemporary classic’ Indian dining, Martabaan is a must-visit if you are like me always looking for a flavourful meal that will linger on your tastebuds in the most delightful manner possible. The restaurant is a feather on the cap of the luxurious culinary canvas at Emirates Palace. The regal ambience, with beautiful views of the Arabian Gulf’s glimmering blue waters and the Emirates Palace Marina, is an ideal place that marries the traditional flavours of Indian cuisine with contemporary creativity. I indulged in lavish fare by beginning with a plate of  the creamy murgh malai tikka. This was followed by a heavy main course of Martabaan ka meat which is crafted beautifully with tender meat and fresh spices. If you are a vegetarian you can relish the Martabaan ke chole accompanied with an assortment of Indian breads. The end to my extravagant affair was a plate of refreshing orange basundi that aptly balanced all the spices from the main course.

VERDICT A visit to Martabaan is something that will be imprinted on your tastebuds and memory for a long time to come.
