SriLankan Airlines has launched a digital card for the convenience of its FlySmiLes members, the airline’s loyalty programme.

Members must download and log into the SriLankan Airlines app to access their digital membership card. While FlySmiLes Silver members will no longer be given the plastic card, Classic, Gold and Platinum members have the option of receiving it in addition to the digital version. This is because unlike the Silver tier, the other membership categories benefit from oneworld partner airline privileges.

SriLankan Airlines’ chief commercial officer, Siva Ramachandran says,  “The FlySmiLes digital card initiative will make the skies greener whilst promoting sustainable and responsible air travel. We are committed to reinvent and enhance the experience of flying SriLankan Airlines – and the launch of the digital FlySmiLes frequent flyer card is yet another initiative towards offering greater convenience and mobility to our passengers.”

When travelling, passengers can simply display their digital membership cards on Apple or Android supported smartphones and tablets.

SriLankan Airlines launched in 1979 and flies to 94 destinations across 44 countries. flysmiles.com
