30 May 2016 by Clement Huang

A city-sized culture and tourism development has opened in Jiangxi province, with six major new hotels.

The two square kilometre Nanchang Wanda Cultural Tourism City complex developed by the Wanda Group features two Wanda Realm-branded hotels plus a Wanda Vista hotel.

Three Accor properties (in partnership with Wanda) have also set up shop under the Pullman, Novotel and Mercure brands, offering a broad scope of high-end and mid-tier properties.

In addition to the massive hotel cluster, the complex is home to Asia’s largest aquarium, a cinema, theme park, shopping mall and various restaurants. It is expected to receive over 10 million visits annually.

Costing RMB22 billion, the development is reportedly the largest investment project in Jiangxi province for three decades.

The new complex is situated at Jiulong Lake in Honggutan District, 50-minutes from Nanchang Changbei International Airport or a ten-minute drive from Nanchang West High Speed Railway Station.
