Marriott is to open its second property in Belarus, a new-build five-star hotel in the country’s capital, Minsk.
The Minsk Marriot Hotel is scheduled to open in early 2016, and will feature 217 rooms and suites, a range of restaurants and cafés, and a rum bar.
The hotel’s facilities include eight conference rooms and a 400-capacity ballroom, as well as a sports centre and tennis club.
The Falcon Club will house a state-of-the-art arena with room for 2,100 spectators as well as a wellness centre, spa and cinema.
The project is a joint venture between Belarus and Qatar, explaining the striking falcon-shaped architectural design which is inspired by Qatar’s national bird.
The Minsk Marriott Hotel joins the existing Renaissance Minsk (which opened in 2014) in Marriott’s Belarus portfolio.
