IAG partners British Airways and Vueling are extending their codeshare agreement.
The Spanish carrier will add its flight code to more than 30 BA flights to Spain and Italy from London Heathrow and London Gatwick, it was announced today.
The move means that, from October 1, Vueling passengers can book BA flights on services including between LGW and Barcelona, Naples and Rome.
Other Gatwick routes to be added "in the coming weeks" will include Malaga, Lanzarote, Genoa and Pisa.
From later this year, codeshare routes from LHR will include Ibiza, Palma, Milan and Pisa.
Sean Doyle, BA's head of alliances and joint business, said: "British Airways' relationship with Vueling continues to go from strength-to-strength and customers of both airlines will benefit from the choice and flexibility that these additional codeshare routes bring on routes between the UK, Spain and Italy."
Fernando Estrada, Vueling's chief strategy officer, added: "This agreement will enable us to broaden the routes available on our website, thus giving a better service to our customers, while consolidating and strengthening our relationship with our IAG partner British Airways."
Last year, BA added its flight code to 180 Vueling services from Rome Fiumicino and Barcelona airports (see news, August 2014).
