New Hyatt Regency opens in Wuhan

27 Jul 2015

Hyatt Regency Wuhan Optics Valley has officially opened its doors - marking the first Hyatt branded property in Hubei Province.

Located within the commercial district of Wuchang, the hotel is a 45-minute drive from the Wuhan Tianhe International Airport and within an hour’s drive to three rail hubs.

Given its easy reach to destinations such as the Wuhan Optics Valley, East Lake, Ma’anshan National Forest Park, and Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Christopher Koehler, vice president and managing director of Hyatt’s China operations is confident that the hotel will be “a place that fosters connections for both business and leisure travellers”.

The newly rebranded hotel offers 330 guestrooms, designed to balance functionality and relaxation with subtle Chinese elements. All rooms are equipped with a flat screen LCD television, DVD player, stereo soundbar and complimentary wifi.

Hyatt Regency Wuhan Optics Valley will offer international, Chinese and Italian cuisines in its restaurants, Market Café and Damiano. The lobby lounge offers champagne, premium wines and light refreshments all day and boasts the longest bar in Wuhan.

With over 1,480 sqm of meeting and event space, including the 740sqm Regency ballroom, the hotel caters for intimate meetings and larger functions.

Guests may also relax with carefully curated Eastern and Western therapies at the spa facility designed by Singapore-based spa specialists AW Lake Spa Concepts, or go for a workout under the guide of a personal trainer at the fitness centre.

Wuhan is the capital of Hubei province, and is the most populous city in central China. With 3,500 years of history and cultural heritage, the ancient metropolis is home to many tourist attractions and is an important hub for trade, finance, transport, information technology and education in central China.
