The Grand Mansion opens in Nanjing

16 Jul 2015 by Clement Huang

The Grand Mansion, a Luxury Collection hotel by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has opened in Nanjing, China.

Hoyt Harper, Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts’ global brand leader said: "[The Grand Mansion] is at once a portal to the rich cultural heritage of Nanjing and a gateway to experience the city’s contemporary art, design and cuisine.”

The hotel's design draws inspiration from Nanjing’s celebrated eras – the Ming dynasty and the early 20th century when the city was China’s capital. All 158 rooms and 15 suites are luxuriously appointed with a sophisticated colour scheme of neutral gold and cream tones. All rooms come with complimentary wifi and work desk.

There is an extensive collection of art, chinaware, handcrafted textiles throughout the hotel, and one of the largest hotel libraries in the country – The Travellers’ Library.

Food and beverage outlets include Xi Lounge, offering a wide collection of teas, and the Xuan Ling Ge restaurant serving “Min Guo” cuisine – Nanjing’s culinary identity fused from Hangzhou, Huaiyang and Taiwanese flavours.

Leisure facilities include a fitness centre, swimming pool and spa, while there are eight meeting rooms and a 557 sqm grand ballroom to serve business guests.

Located on the historic Chanjiang Road, the hotel is steps away from the Oriental Metropolitan Museum and the Jiankang Palace.

The Grand Mansion is the Luxury Collection Hotel and Resort’s seventh property in China, and adds to the brand’s over 100 hotels worldwide.

“The rapid growth of The Luxury Collection brand in China reflects a robust demand for high-end hospitality from an increasingly affluent market, where domestic travel continues to thrive,” said Harper.
