Norwegian announces Gatwick-Boston

9 Jul 2015 by GrahamSmith
Norwegian has announced a new transatlantic route, from London Gatwick to Boston. The low-cost carrier will launch a four-times weekly service between the two cities next May. No further details of days of operation and timings are currently available. Norwegian CEO Bjorn Kjos said: "Over 200,000 passengers have now chosen to fly transatlantic with Norwegian, and with additional Dreamliners set to be based at Gatwick next year we can add further exciting destinations such as Boston. "Our continued growth in the UK demonstrates the need for quality, affordable travel. Our free inflight Wi-Fi on flights within Europe, fleet of brand new Boeing 787 Dreamliners on transatlantic routes and affordable fares give us a competitive advantage." Norwegian began its transatlantic operation with weekly services from London Gatwick to New York JFK, Los Angeles and Fort Lauderdale last summer (see news, October 2013). It then doubled its services from LGW to both JFK and LAX this summer (see news, September 2014) and will turn the JFK service daily this winter (see news, March 30). It also launched a once-weekly service to Orlando in April (see news, September 2014). norwegian.com Graham Smith
