British Airways will add a sixth daily weekday service between London City and Dublin this year.
The announcement comes two weeks after Flybe said it will axe its flights between the two airports on May 31 (see news, March 23).
BA will operate its new daily weekday flight from June 1 for one month, before flying the sixth service permanently from September 1.
Outbound flight BA4466 will depart LCY at 1440 and arrive in Dublin at 1555, with return flight BA4469 leaving Dublin at 1715 and landing in London at 1830.
Luke Hayhoe, BA's commercial general manager at London City, said: "Our current schedule allows us to operate the extra flight in June, which is a particularly busy month, then we will add the additional frequency permanently from September."
BA launched its five-times daily London City to Dublin route last year (see news, June 2014), when it went head-to-head with Flybe, which also began services on the route during the same month.
