Qatar Airways Privilege Club members can earn up to 100,000 bonus QMiles and a single tier upgrade as part of a new promotion.
The "Globetrotter" campaign, which runs until December 31, is divided into four themes — Cultural Exploration, Adventurous Getaway, Culinary Journeys and Metropolitan Excursions — with each consisting of select destinations and a specific time period.
To earn bonus QMiles, members need to travel to a destination in each theme during the time period. At the end of each offer period, members will be awarded a "travel badge" if they have completed one of these journeys.
Then, when the Globetrotter promotion ends on December 31, further rewards are awarded based on the number of travel badges earned.
Members who have earned four badges will receive 100,000 bonus QMiles and a single tier upgrade; three badges will earn 50,000 bonus QMiles; and two badges will net 25,000 bonus QMiles.
The four themes breakdown as follows:
- The Cultural Exploration theme runs from April to August and includes these destinations: Cairo, Athens, Delhi, Rome, Amman, Casablanca, Washington, Beijing, Berlin, Vienna, Madrid and Zurich
- The Adventurous Getaway theme runs from June to August and includes Chengdu, Larnaca, Goa, Denpasar Bali, Nairobi, Male, Kathmandu, Capetown, Colombo, Kilimanjaro, Phuket and Hanoi.
- The Culinary Journeys theme runs from September to November and includes Ho Chi Minh City, Hyderabad, Tokyo, Barcelona, Buenos Aires, Chongqing, Brussels, Istanbul, Venice, Munich, Phnom Penh and Copenhagen.
- The Metropolitan Excursions theme runs from October to December and includes Miami, Melbourne, Shanghai, Paris, Hong Kong, Mumbai, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Bangkok, Dubai, London and New York.
Bonus QMiles are awarded as follows:
- 1,000 QMiles for economy class travel from Doha to Dubai and 5,000 for premium class travel.
- Economy class passengers will earn 5,000 bonus QMiles and premium class passengers 10,000 when travelling from Doha to Amman, Athens, Bangkok, Barcelona, Berlin, Brussels, Cairo, Chengdu, Chongqing, Colombo , Copenhagen, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, Istanbul, Kathmandu, Kilimanjaro, Larnaca, London, Madrid, Male, Mumbai, Munich, Nairobi, Paris, Phuket, Rome, Venice, Vienna and Zurich.
- Lastly, economy passengers will earn 7,500 bonus QMiles and premium class passengers 15,000 when travelling from Doha to Beijing, Buenos Aires, Capetown, Casablanca, Denpasar Bali, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Melbourne, Miami, New York, Phnom Penh, Shanghai, Singapore, Tokyo and Washington.
A statement said: "Bonus Qmiles will be credited only for the outbound journey (from Doha to the theme destination) and not for the return journey (destination to Doha)."
