Dragonair has launched a new codeshare agreement with Shenzhen Airlines that sees the sister airline of Cathay Pacific add Jinjiang in Fujian to its network.
Located in the southeastern part of Fujian Province, along the south bank of the Jin River, Jinjiang is a county-level city administered by prefecture-level Quanzhou City. With a population of nearly two million people, this boomtown is also home to a large number of foreign-invested manufacturing factories, many of them in textile and garment production.
Jinjiang is Dragonair’s 23rd destination in Mainland China, and the 17th destination it has launched or resumed since April 2012. The regional carrier now boasts a total of 50 destinations in Asia.
“Based on statistical information, one-fifth of the Hong Kong population can trace their family roots back to Fujian Province,” said Shang Tai, Shenzhen Airlines’ chief executive.
“The codeshare agreement on the Hong Kong-Jinjiang service will facilitate family visits and business and cultural exchanges between Hong Kong and Fujian, as well as further deepening cooperation between Mainland China and Hong Kong.”
As part of the codeshare agreement, Dragonair will place its marketing “KA” code on Shenzhen Airline’s thrice-daily services between Hong Kong and Jinjiang. Details of the flights are as below:
