Qatar Airways (QR) passengers flying out of Hamad International Airport are given the option to check in their luggage up to 12 hours before their flights, provided that they have booked a stay with The Airport Hotel. They can make use of a dedicated counter located in the check-in hall.
This new service makes life much easier for many travellers, as quite a number of QR flights take off from the airport during the wee hours of the night.
“We are delighted to offer yet another exclusive service to Qatar Airways’ passengers. The newly announced offering from The Airport Hotel at Hamad International Airport will be a popular new service, adding an enhanced level of flexibility to Qatar Airways’ passengers who want to either relax at the hotel and [Vitality] spa before their flight or explore the fantastic five-star facilities at HIA,” said Qatar Airways chief executive, Akbar Al Baker.
As reported back in November 2014 by Business Traveller Asia-Pacific (see here), The Airport Hotel is located at the south end of Hamad airport and offers 100 guestrooms in four categories: superior, deluxe, executive rooms and executive suites. Guests can choose to book rooms for 0-3, 3-6, 6-12 or 12-24 hours.
