Hilton Worldwide has announced that its mobile check-in service is now available in more than 4,100 hotels across 11 brands.
The digital rollout – the fastest ever in the hospitality industry – was originally launched back in July. As reported by Business Traveller (see here), the service lets Hilton HHonors members use their smartphone to check in and check out, and choose their preferred room.
In addition, users will be able to customise their stay by "purchasing upgrades and making special requests for items to be delivered to their room, on their mobile devices, tablets and computers".
Installation of the Hilton mobile app is required to use the service.
The mobile check-in function complements the mobile key technology that the group is also introducing to all of its properties. According to Hilton, the keyless room access service will be available at nearly every one of its hotels by the end of 2016.
