The Langham, Sydney is set to re-open its doors on December 2, four months after the start of a A$30 million refurbishment project.
Renovation works were led by London-based firm GA Design, and include a complete redevelopment of the lobby, dining areas, guestrooms and ballroom.
Lobby
The new lobby will feature Calacatta marble flooring with a simple Art Deco-inspired design, and a large central reception desk of gold leaf crackled porcelain.
The new lobby will no longer feature a staircase, thereby extending the area, and allowing an abundance of natural light to enter the hotel.
Guestroom
The guestrooms have been redesigned with colonial décor and classic furniture to evoke a feeling of timeless elegance.
The Ballroom
Sporting a rich gold amber colour against a soft silver grey, the Ballroom now boasts a significantly increased capacity; able to accommodate up to 200 for cocktails or 150 for a banquet dinner.
Chuan Spa
In addition, Langham Hospitality Group will bring the Sydney hotel in line with its international sister properties by introducing the Chuan Spa and Palm Court concepts to the development.
The spa will offer facials, massages and body treatments based upon traditional Chinese medicine principles, as well as skin care treatments by German beauty pioneers, Babor. It also comes with a fully-equipped health club, Jacuzzi and steam rooms. The hotel’s existing 20m indoor pool has been retained.
