MH launches online upgrade system

3 Nov 2014 by Tamsin Cocks

Malaysia Airlines (MH) has launched a new auction system, MHupgrade, allowing passengers to bid for upgraded seats.

Passengers who book an economy or business class ticket will receive an email informing them of available seats in the next highest class and can decide how much they are willing to spend for an upgrade.

If bids are successful, passengers will enjoy all the benefits of the higher class, including priority check-in, baggage allowance, boarding and in-flight meals, plus lounge access. Only successful bids will be charged and passengers will be informed 48 hours prior to departure.

Malaysia Airlines’ director of commercial, Dr Hugh Dunleavy said, “This is a great opportunity for guests to get an upgrade to a premium cabin class.

“Give it a go—who knows you might get an upgrade on our first class at a really great deal!” he added.
