The East Aquathon 16.3 took place on October 18 and Business Traveller Asia-Pacific and Mix were the media sponsors of the event. Group editor Reggie Ho and Mix magazine senior reporter Marisa Cannon teamed up to take part in the competition and finished at position 29 out of 41 teams.
Organised by Revolution Asia with East Hong Kong hotel as the main sponsor, the event raised a total of HK$150,000 (US$19,335) for Sedan Chair Charities Fund. It began sharply at 8:30am with a 1.5 km swim around the bay, followed by a 7.5 km mountain run covering the gargantuan "Twins" and a 7.3 km "urban jungle" run stretching along Tai Tam Reservoir and over Mt Parker Road before ending in the business district of Quarry Bay. The day wrapped up with a street fair organised by East Hong Kong.

"Race day was loads of fun – I had a great time and was thankful not to have drowned!" Marisa, the swimmer, said.
"Given that we didn't really have time to train for it, we have done pretty well I have to say," Reggie, the runner, enthused after he had regained his breath.
There were also 382 solo participants in the race, who completed both the swim and the run by themselves.

The Business Traveller-Mix team generated HK$5,913.5 in donations, and was given a trophy for the second highest sum raised. For a Facebook album of the event, click here.
