Radisson Blu to debut in Uganda and Ghana

9 Oct 2014 by BusinessTraveller

Carslon Rezidor is set to open its first properties under the Radisson Blu brand in Kampala and Accra.

Radisson Blu Kampala is scheduled to open in the last quarter of 2016, and will be located in the city's business district, offering 195 rooms. It will be the first Carlson Rezidor property in Uganda.

Meanwhile the 207-room Radisson Blu Hotel Accra Airport, The Exchange is set to open in 2017, and will form part of a 75,000 sqm mixed use office, hotel, retail and residential complex.

Carlson Rezidor currently has 30 properties under development across Africa, and says that it aims to "establish Radisson Blu as the leading upper upscale brand in the region – present in capital cities and financial and economic hubs".

The group is also targeting Park Inn by Radisson properties in "high potential primary and secondary destinations", as well as potential opportunities for its new Radisson Red and Quorvus Collection brands.
