Adagio and Holiday Inn Express expand in Germany

9 Oct 2014 by BusinessTraveller

Aparthotels provider Adagio will open a new property in Munich under its Adagio Access brand later this year.

Adagio Access Munchen City Olympiapark will be the brand’s flagship aparthotel, and the first under the redesigned Adagio Access offering .

According to Adagio the new design offers “modular apartments that customers can adapt as they please”, and the new property features 160 apartments, with free wifi and fully-equipped kitchens, and communal spaces including a lobby-cum-breakfast area with wifi and a mini-market, as well as a gym, laundry and indoor parking.

The Adagio brand is a joint venture between Accor and the Pierre and Vacances Centre Parcs Group – Adagio Access was born out of the group’s purchase of the Citea aparthotel brand, and sits below Adagio’s core midscale offering.

Earlier this year Accor announced plans to open two Adagio properties in London by 2018 (see news June 27).

Meanwhile IHG has announced a franchise agreement to open its third property in Stuttgart in 2016.

Holiday Inn Express Stuggart Hauptbahnhof will be located within walking distance of the city’s main rail station, and will feature 140 rooms, a breakfast room, bar and conference room.

The new-build hotel will join the Holiday Inn Stuttgart and Holiday Inn Express Stuttgart Airport as IHG’s third property in the southwest German city.
