Virgin to close Grey Goose Loft at Heathrow

25 Jul 2014 by GrahamSmith

Virgin Atlantic is closing the Grey Goose Loft cocktail bar on the upper floor of its Heathrow Terminal 3 Clubhouse.

The airline will shut the area for refurbishment in September — for how long is unconfirmed, as is what the space will be used for once it reopens.

In April, Delta Air Lines relocated some key services to T3 to join Virgin Atlantic, its transatlantic partner (see news, April 2).

This would have resulted in more premium passengers using the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse. Whether an increase in footfall had any bearing on the decision to close Grey Goose Loft is unknown.

A Virgin Atlantic spokesperson told Business Traveller: "We have reached the end of our agreed term with Grey Goose to host the space. The space, however, will remain part of our Clubhouse."

The Grey Goose Loft opened in 2011 (see news, September 2011).
