Ryanair has announced five new routes from Manchester this winter, including one to Shannon.

The Irish carrier will also commence services to Barcelona, Lisbon, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria, taking its total number of Manchester routes to 24.

It will fly daily to Shannon, twice daily to Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria, thrice daily to Barcelona and four-times daily to Lisbon.

The airline is also increasing frequencies from Manchester to Madrid, Riga and Rome.

Maria Macken, Ryanair's sales and marketing manager, said: "Ryanair is pleased to extend our Manchester 2014 winter schedule to 24 routes, with a new daily service to and from Shannon in addition to four other new routes to Barcelona, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Lisbon and extra frequencies to Madrid, Riga and Rome."

Last month, Ryanair announced it will carry over five summer routes from Shannon Airport this winter (see news, June 5).
