Emirates has introduced new menus on its Indian services, which offer food that reflect the country's diverse cuisine.
Dhabe da gosht
“Our new tailor-made menus were created to suit the palates of our Indian customers, and will also give visiting travellers an authentic taste of some of India’s most popular regional dishes,” said Robin Padgett, senior vice president aircraft catering, Emirates.
The menus have been designed with customer feedback in mind to capture the best of each Indian destination that the airline flies to.

For example, first and business customers flying on the Kolkata route will be able to select sarson maach (mustard fish curry), a Bengali dish from the estern part of India.
Similarly, regional favourites such as turiya vatana muthia (ridge gourd and green peas dumpling) and dhabe da gosht (lamb meat cooked in pure ghee and flavoured with cardamoms, poppy seeds and spices) are offered to first and business customers on flights to and from Ahmedabad and Delhi respectively.
Meal separator
To complement the new Indian food items, Emirates is also introducing meal separators designed to help retain the form as well as aromas and moisture of the dishes, which tend to consist of a lot of gravy and starch such as rice.
