BA and US Airways expand codeshare

10 Jun 2014 by GrahamSmith

Oneworld members British Airways and US Airways have this week expanded their codeshare agreement.

BA's code now appears on US Airways domestic flights from Philadelphia to Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Jacksonville, New Orleans, Pittsburgh, Portland, Raleigh and San Juan

The US Airways code has been added to BA European routes via London Heathrow to Aberdeen, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Edinburgh, Hanover, Milan Linate, Nice, Pisa and Sofia, reports airlineroute.net.

The move comes almost a month after the airline first commenced codeshare operations (see news, May 7).

US Airways is midway through a merger with American Airlines and the BA partnership is a natural extension of the existing codeshare and joint transatlantic venture with American.

Last week, US Airways began a codeshare with fellow Oneworld member Air Berlin (see news, June 5).
