No.1 Traveller to open lounge at Edinburgh Airport

No.1 Traveller will open its first Scottish lounge at Edinburgh Airport next month.

The facility, which will be the company’s fifth UK airport lounge, will be located after security and will be “the most central lounge location at the airport, convenient for all gates”.

No.1 Edinburgh will include a new “Touchdown” service that is designed to offer those with very little time rapid access to a desk with the internet, newspapers and food and drink for a to-be-determined “small fee”.

Also available will be offer the “Driveway to Runway” service, including chauffeur-driven airport transfers, airport parking, security fast-track and the VIP Departure service at an additional cost that is calculated on demand.

Phil Cameron, founder and CEO of No.1 Traveller, said: “We’re excited that we’re not only launching our latest lounge and our complete ‘Driveway to Runway’ service at Edinburgh Airport, but also our new Touchdown concept – a convenient way for the time-pressed traveller to make the most of their airport experience.

“Edinburgh was the UK’s fastest growing airport last year and has just the right leisure and commuter markets for our range of premium pre-flight services.”

The new lounge means that, for the first time, passengers travelling between Edinburgh and Gatwick, Stansted or Birmingham will be able to visit No.1’s lounges on both legs of their journey.

  • I travelled through EDI on Sunday, and had to use the Temporary Service-Air lounge with KLM. The normal area was closed and half of the seats were outside roped off in the terminal! the new lounge will be ready in May and has a different name.

There are a large number of lounges for such a small, yet busy airport?
