Singapore Airlines (SIA) has signed a new codeshare agreement with fellow Star Alliance partner Eva Air to help boost the carrier’s daily flights between the Lion City and Taipei.
SIA used to operate two daily flights to Taipei while Eva Air flew to Singapore once daily, with a second evening flight available only on Fridays.
As per the agreement, SIA will add “SQ” code on the daily Eva Air-operated flight between Singapore and Taipei. In return, Eva Air will add its “BR” code on SIA’s own two daily flights to Taipei.
The SIA-operated flights will be serviced by the Airbus A330-300, and will feature a two-class configuration with 30 seats in business and 255 in economy. Meanwhile, the flights be Eva Air will be operated by the Boeing 777-300ER, offering a three-class configuration, with 38 seats in business (branded as Royal Laurel), 63 in premium economy (Elite), and 211 in economy.
