British Airways has announced that it will begin offering a direct daily service to Malta from March 2014.
As one of the world’s smallest and most densely populated countries, Malta is a popular Mediterranean holiday destination. The country is classified as an advanced economy according to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and is known for its electronics manufacturing industry, limestone resource and financial services.
Operations between London Gatwick and Luqa airport will be serviced alternately by the B737, A319 and A320 aircraft. The B737 will feature 13 seats in business and 132 seats in economy, while the A319 will offer 48 business class seats, and 78 economy class seats. Finally, the A320 will consist of 15 seats in business class, and 137 in economy.

Prices for hand-baggage only tickets in economy class will start from £55 (US$88) while seats for passengers who check in baggage will cost £67 (US$108). Business class fares start at £274 (US$440). All price quoted are for one-way tickets, and include all taxes and charges.
