BA launches service between LCY and Dusseldorf

British Airways has today launched a service between London City Airport and Dusseldorf.

The route operates thrice daily from Monday to Friday. On Sundays, it runs twice to Dusseldorf and once to London, while on Saturdays there is just one early morning Dusseldorf to LCY service.

BA is deploying a 50-seat Saab 2000 aircraft on the route.

Matthew Hall, chief commercial officer at London City Airport, said: "With the majority of London City Airport passengers travelling on business, we are delighted that British Airways has launched direct services to the key business destination of Dusseldorf."

All-inclusive one-way fares from LCY to Dusseldorf start at £79. The route was previously operated by Lufthansa.

On weekdays, the service departs City Airport at 0735, 1425 and 1855, arriving in Dusseldorf at 1000, 1650 and 2120 respectively.

However, on Wednesdays the early afternoon flight departs ten minutes earlier at 1415, landing in Dusseldorf at 1640.

On Sundays, the service leaves LCY at 1450 and 1855, arriving in Dusseldorf at 1715 and 2120.

The return flights leave Dusseldorf on weekdays at 0635, 1315 and 1755, landing at City Airport at 0705, 1340 and 1825.

However, on Wednesdays the evening flight leaves at 1800 and lands at LCY at 1825, and on Thursdays it leaves at 1745, arriving at 1815.

The Saturdays service takes off from Dusseldorf at 0635 and lands at City Airport at 0705. On Sunday, it leaves Dusseldorf at 1800 and arrives at LCY at 1825.
