Kempinski Hotels have announced the opening of Hotel Nikol’skaya Kempinski Moscow, housed in a reconstructed 1870s count’s residence. The property is the group’s second in the Russian capital.

Hotel Nikol’skaya is located at the corner of Nikol’skaya Street and Lubyanka Square, and offers views of Red Square and The Kremlin. The property is also close to the Lubyanka metro station, allowing easy access to all international airports and major railway stations.

Featuring 211 guestrooms and suites, the interior of the hotel is reminiscent of an old-world ocean liner with an upper deck and curved staircases. The two presidential suites each measure 250 sqm and feature a drawing room with a dining and relaxation area, as well as a bedroom and bathroom with both bath and shower facilities. Guests can also opt for two deluxe rooms to be connected to the suite, forming a three-bedroom suite.

Meanwhile, many of the 157 deluxe and superior rooms boast high ceilings and measure 35-48 sqm and 30-35 sqm respectively. All rooms include a sitting area with work desk, free wifi, a 42-inch flat-screen TV and a smart control pad.

Facilities include all-day dining restaurant Mosaik, along with a lobby lounge and bar, and a range of conference facilities including the 200-sqm Kandinsky grand ballroom. The hotel also has extensive health and spa facilities, such as an indoor patio-style swimming pool and fitness centre.

Kempinski also opened new properties in India (see here) and Shanghai (see here) earlier this year.
