Ascott opens first Citadines property in Indonesia

19 Mar 2013

Serviced apartment provider Ascott has opened its first property under the "apart'hotel" brand Citadines in Indonesia – the Citadines Rasuna Jakarta. The property targets the independent traveller with short- and long-stay options.

The 153-unit, part of an integrated mixed-use complex called The H Tower, is located within the city’s central business district and next to the Metropolitan Medical Centre – hence making it ideal for medical tourists. It is also close to the lifestyle and entertainment hub Kuningan City Mall.

The property consists of studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments, all of which have fully-equipped kitchens, separate dining and living areas, complimentary internet access and a home entertainment system with a DVD player. Facilities include a fitness centre, an outdoor swimming pool, business centre, laundrette, a café and restaurant, and a 24-hour reception desk.

Indonesia’s strong economic growth has surpassed that of India in 2012, placing it in the same league as the other emerging giants in Asia (click here for an in-depth feature of the country, published in the Business Traveller Asia-Pacific October 2012 issue). The archipelago's new-found affluence is reflected in the sharp increase of hotel and serviced apartment openings, particularly in the capital city of Jakarta.

As reported earlier, Best Western will soon open 25 hotels across Indonesia of which four will be in Jakarta (see story here) and the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has three hotels planned for the city for the next two years (see story here).

Ascott's second Citadines in Indonesia will be Citadines Marvell Surabaya, in the country's second largest city.
