Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts are opening a 466-room property in the sprawling metropolis of Chongqing, southwest China.
The Shangri-La Chongqing – set to welcome guests in autumn this year – will occupy the top 28 floors of a 58-storey multi-purpose complex in the bustling city, and will be located in the central business district, just 45 minutes from Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport.
The guestrooms will be a minimum of 45 sqm – the largest of any in the city, according to a Shangri-La representative. The property will also feature a Chinese restaurant, another speciality restaurant, a spa and healthclub, swimming pool, lounge, hair salon and entertainment centre.
There will also be 2,000 sqm of meeting and banqueting space, including a 1,000-sqm ballroom with 12-metre ceiling and 10 function rooms.
