Philip Schaetz, Dorsett International senior vice-president of sales and marketing, told Business Traveller, that existing properties and future projects will fall under a variety of brands, including boutique range d.Collection, a series of character-rich hotels in prime metro locations; Dorsett Hotels & Resorts, comprising the upscale Dorsett Grand hotels and mid-scale Dorsett Hotels, both again in central locations; and the value-led Silka Hotels offering handy, speedy service and attractive room rates.
The blend of Orientalia and colonial vestiges, said Schaetz, acknowledges Dorsett Hospitality’s ties to its base Hong Kong, as well as other destinations where it has – or intends to have – a presence, such as Malaysia and Singapore, which were once also British dominions.
