Easyjet is expanding its route network to Iceland with the addition of twice-weekly services from Manchester and Edinburgh to Reykjavik.
The Edinburgh route is to launch on March 14, 2013, with flights operating on Mondays and Thursdays. The Manchester service begins on March 21, operating on Thursdays and Sundays.
Earlier this year, Easyjet started flying from London Luton to Reykjavik (see online news November 9, 2011). From January 4, it will increase the service from three to four flights per week, with an additional Friday service. It means the carrier will operate a total of eight flights per week to the Icelandic capital.
Paul Simmons, Easyjet’s UK director, said: "We’re delighted to be expanding our flights from the UK to Reykjavik in response to the route’s growing popularity. The destination is proving popular for leisure and business travellers alike.”
