Chilean carrier LAN's first B787 Dreamliner aircraft has completed final assembly and has been painted in full livery ahead of its delivery later this year.
LAN will be the first South American carrier to take delivery of the Dreamliner, and has a total of 26 B787’s on order. The first aircraft will be configured for 217 economy seats and 30 in business class.
The carrier says it expects the delivery of its first Dreamliner in “late 2012”, and will gradually roster the aircraft onto routes including Buenos Aires, Lima, Los Angeles, Madrid, and Frankfurt during its first year of service.
ANA was the launch carrier for the B787 Dreamliner, followed by fellow Japanese airline JAL. Qatar Airways flew its first B787 into the Farnborough Airshow last week, ahead of the launch of scheduled flights to London later this year.
